Cute kids

Tanner found the white out yesterday as I was doing laundry. He must have thought it was lip gloss. He was then mad that I took a picture of him. I hope he forgives me. It was too funny to not get on camera.
After the girls got their hair done today I thought they looked especially cute with their matching shirts and headbands so I got a couple of pictures. I love how much they love each other. I also love Kate's face in the picture below and how Eliza has so many missing teeth. She has lost 8 teeth already!
Nathan wanted in on the camera action so here he is too.
I went to parent/teacher conferences this week and Kate's teacher, Mrs. Mesa, said Kate is so funny. Kate is such a character. She was really shy and quiet the first part of the year, but now her teacher said she likes to boss the boys around in class. She has also turned into a chatter box and had to turn her card from green to yellow lately. The teacher didn't seem bugged by it, rather happy that Kate has become more outgoing, comfortable, and social. I guess both of my girls take after me in the talky talky bossy pants kinda way.
Eliza's oral reading fluency is 174 now. It was 159/82, but that was a few weeks ago. The end of the year benchmark for first grade here is 50/25 so she is miles above that! She is doing so well her teacher had to brush up on some things that will help Eliza at this level. Eliza is already going to read with the 2nd graders. Her teacher said she is a fantastic reader for her age. She doesn't even turn 7 until the end of the school year. She takes after her dad in that department. I'm not the reader in the family.

One Month Already!

Kelsey gets alotta love over here. Whether she likes it or not. Nathan often says "don't worry, Mom, I'll protect her!" Little does he know, I'm trying to protect her too...from them.
This is my little angel yesterday (4 weeks old). It looks like I caught her praying.
She is about 2 1/2 weeks old here.
She has the best color of skin. It reminds me of my brother, Tanner's perfect skin.

Kelsey sleeps with me in our bed. I love it. I love how cozy and comfy she is to snuggle up with. I love to sleep with her tucked in my arms with her head next to me so I can kiss her little head all night and breathe in her sweet baby smell. (And just a side note, this is my new bedding which I also love.)
I saw someone else who had done pictures of their newborn with the parents wedding rings and I thought it was cute...so I copied them. I think some of them turned out pretty cute!

Here is Kelsey today at one month old. Pictures just don't do this little lady justice. She is perfect!
I think she is cute even when she cries, so I added a couple of those pictures too.
You can see I feed her well. She is filling out well. It is adorable.
More pictures taken today. I can hardly put her down because I don't want to miss a moment with her. She is already getting too big too fast. I can stare at her all day she is so beautiful.

Just for my sake, I wanted to post a few things about how the first month has gone. This transition has been one of the better ones. I find that I am not as tired as I have been with the other 4. That is because Nathaniel has helped out a ton with Kelsey at night. He takes the late shift while I go to bed. She has done well the last 3 nights. She had fussy spells that went from 11 p.m. to 2 or 4 in the morning. Luckily she hasn't done that the last few days.
She doesn't take a pacifier even though I try it daily. I am hoping this changes. She isn't really a fussy baby, but it helps to have a plug for church or when she is in the carseat.
She takes good naps in the swing, but not so much when she is lying flat on the bed. I'm not worried about that at this point. At least she is napping!
I have been able to keep up on most of the housework this time around. That is because she naps pretty well and the boys sometimes will leave me alone long enough to do something productive.

Kelsey's Blessing Day

Kelsey was blessed on Sunday March 4, 2012 in the Yuma 4th ward. She was only a week and a half old, but I wanted to do it with my mom there. Kelsey wore the blessing dress that my Grandma Allsop made my sister when she was born. All of my sisters and I have worn it on our blessing days, as well as all of our girls. It is a very sentimental dress indeed. That is one of the reasons it was important to me to have my mom there. Kelsey was absolutely beautiful in it.

Grandma with Kelsey

Unfortunately these are the best shots of the day of the whole family. We'll have to get a good family picture later... I want a few months before I have to be in more pictures.

Nana and Papa with Kelsey

We were happy to have family come down and join us. All together we had Nana, Papa, Nancy and Quentin and 5 kids, Elizabeth, Matthew and Kamber, Josh and Becca, and my Mom. It was a beautiful day, a beautiful blessing and I couldn't even get up to bear my testimony because I was crying so much just sitting on the pew. I felt so very blessed.

A Little Kelsey Love

These pictures were taken today. She is almost 2 weeks old. She lost her cord yesterday which means she is officially ours to keep. No returns or exchanges at this point. We are very in love with her, just not her sleeping schedule...or lack thereof.
